Bat Information and Rules
BAT STANDARDS
Effective January 1, 2018, Cal Ripken Baseball adopted the new USA Baseball Bat Standard. This new standard was also implemented by many other leagues such as Little League Baseball, PONY Baseball, Dixie Youth Baseball, and others.
PEEWEE (TEE BALL)
Tee ball bats must feature the USA Baseball mark and accompanying permanent text which reads: ONLY FOR USE WITH APPROVED TEE BALLS
ROOKIES AND ABOVE
Bats must have a USA Baseball Marking, the barrel can be no more than 2 5/8", and NO BBCOR BATS.
Note: Solid one-piece wood barrel bats do not require a USA Baseball logo.
HOW TO CHOOSE A BAT
One of the main pieces of equipment your player will need is a baseball bat, but it can be overwhelming to figure out what type, size, and weight of bat you will need.

PURCHASING A BASEBALL GLOVE
The other piece of equipment that can cause some confusion about which one to purchase is a baseball glove. You can get used gloves at Play It Again Sports, or new gloves at many sporting goods stores. Most new gloves will need to be broken in for them to perform the best.
